Nathan Cain: IT Volunteer

Hello! My name is Nathan, I’m a dedicated IT Volunteer with Stepping Stones Project from 14th August 2023 to 12th June 2024.

I’m currently studying BTEC Level 2 Technical Diploma in Digital Technology at Knowsley Community College.

In my role as an IT Volunteer, I take on my diverse responsibilities, including web and software administration, conducting computer skills courses, setting up IT equipment for events, providing basic technical support, hosting monthly tech workshops for staff training, creating BSL videography on tech terminology, and contributing to digital marketing efforts (e.g. creating event posters). My focus is on improving digital literacy and building the gap between technology and engagement.

Beyond technology, I have a background in British Sign Language and a passion for community involvement such as former Student Council President at Greenbank College and currently, Remote Ambassador at Just Like Us (LGBTQ+ young people’s charity). I bring a unique blend of technical expertise and a collaborative spirit to my volunteer work.
