Recruit a trustee
Deaf Active is Seeking Passionate Trustees to Make a Difference!
About Us:
Deaf Active is a Liverpool-based charity that supports and advances the lives of Deaf and hearing children and young people through diversionary, bicultural, and socially inclusive activities. We implement ‘reversed integration,’ involving hearing and able-bodied individuals in activities with Deaf and Disabled participants, fostering community connections and mutual understanding. This approach helps eliminate social barriers faced by young people living with Deafness.
Our services include; Play/youth provision, employability and training, and Deaf Active Academy. These services enhance their confidence, self-esteem, independence, life skills, and work opportunities while reducing isolation and loneliness.
We are committed to advocating for improved accessibility by delivering Deaf Awareness and sign language courses through diverse methods tailored to the specific needs of our audience. Our campaigns aim to foster greater understanding and inclusivity, encouraging individuals to learn sign language in an interactive and engaging way.
