Deafeminine Project

Deafeminine Project

The Deafeminine Project was created by Deaf women, for Deaf women, providing a safe, supportive, and empowering space to explore topics that affect women in everyday life. Designed and delivered in British Sign Language (BSL), the project ensured that participants could access information, share experiences, and engage in meaningful discussions in their first language.

The programme covered a wide range of important topics, including mental health and wellbeing, personal care, friendships and relationships, domestic abuse, inclusion, confidence, and self-advocacy. Through interactive workshops, peer support, and open conversations, participants were encouraged to build knowledge, develop resilience, and support one another.

The Deafeminine Project helped reduce isolation, strengthen connections within the Deaf community, and empower Deaf women with the confidence, information, and support they need to make informed choices and improve their wellbeing.
