Aspire Futures
Aspire Futures
The Aspire Futures project was designed to support young men in developing new skills, building confidence, and exploring a range of potential career pathways. Through a combination of practical learning and personal development, participants were encouraged to discover their strengths and gain valuable experience in a supportive and accessible environment.
The programme offered opportunities to learn a wide variety of practical and creative skills, including plastering, tiling, woodwork, cake decorating, and British Sign Language (BSL), alongside activities that promoted teamwork, communication, and personal growth.
Beyond developing new skills, Aspire Futures created a strong sense of belonging. Participants formed lasting friendships, built positive relationships with staff and peers, and developed long-term connections with Deaf Active and the wider community.
The project achieved outstanding outcomes, with many participants progressing into meaningful paid employment. By providing tailored support, practical experience, and opportunities to grow, Aspire Futures helped participants increase their confidence, realise their potential, and take positive steps towards successful and sustainable careers.
